Trivia night raises $2,500

150 people attend Cassville Education Fund event

“The Newsies” team, representing the Barry County Advertiser and the Cassville Democrat, was the overall winner of the Trivia Night on Friday at the Cassville High School commons.

The annual fun-filled event raised more than $2,500 for the Cassville Education Fund.

‘Team 021,” representing the Cassville Branch Library, earned the “Smarty Pants” award for most points earned in the trivia only portion of the competition.

A record 15 teams competed in the charitable event with groups of co-workers, friends, classmates, family members and church members participating.

Emcee Rachael Freeman announced four rounds of trivia questions covering a wide range of subjects from history and sports to geography and science. Bonus point games were played between rounds.

More than 150 people attended the event. Proceeds from Trivia Night benefit the Cassville Education Fund, a permanent endowment fund for the educational needs of Cassville Schools.
