Preschool screening dates set in Cassville

Preschool screening for 3- and 4-year-old children in the Cassville school district is scheduled for April 8 and April 10. Parents of 3- and 4-year-old children may call the primary office at 847-2445 to schedule an appointment. Children must be 3 by Aug. 1. The BRIGANCE Early Childhood Screens Ill test will screen children in the following areas: physical development, language development, academic skills/cognitive development, and self-help and social-emotional skills. The screening will take at least 30 minutes to complete. Screening results will be shared with the parents. Children who are currently enrolled in the Cassville Preschool or who will be eligible to attend kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year should not participate in the screening. Screening results will be used to determine eligibility for the district’s preschool programs.

Southwest yearbooks on sale

The 2019 Southwest yearbooks are on sale. The theme is “Hit Rewind.” The cost is $25. Name stamping and icons for sports, clubs or graduation year are $5 each. The deadline to order is May 10. The books will arrive in August. For more information, people may call 479-826-5413 or e-mail 

Quilt Guild hosting fundraiser

The Table Rock Quilt Guild, based in Kimberling City, is hosting a Hawaiian-themed fundraiser for the Kimberling Area Library on National Quilt Day. It will be Saturday at the Kimberling City Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Angela Walters, the ‘Midnight Quilter,’ will be the guest speaker. The tickets at the door are $10. In addition to the speaker, the Guild will have a unique boutique, grab bags, a drawing for an opportunity quilt, two vendors and a lunch will be served.

Camp Barnabas hosting virtual run

The Camp Barnabas Big Party Virtual Run will be held on April 6. People may register at for the virtual 5K, 10K, half marathon or open categories, after which they will receive a race packet with a custom race bib, T-shirt, and finisher’s medal. At any point on April 6, people may go on the run and track it with MapMyRun, then upload the time to the website. All times are by honor code and should be submitted by 8 p.m.
