Dorothy Mae Minnier
Dorothy Mae Minnier, 80, of Wheaton, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville.
She was born Jan. 16, 1939, in Picher, Okla., the daughter of George Gleen and Lottie Mae (Hughes) Russell. On Nov. 25, 1960, in Tacoma, Wash., she was united in marriage to Harley Edward “Bud” Minnier, Sr. who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were one son, Harley Edward Minnier, Jr.; one brother, George G. Russell, Jr. and one sister, Diana Russell.
Survivors include: one son, Allan J. Minnier; one daughter Diana Baughman of Eagle Rock; one brother, Richard Russell and his wife Linda of Round Rock, Texas; one sister, Susan Russell of Miami, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She grew up and received her education in Miami, Okla., where she graduated from high school and then received her associate’s degree in accounting. For 30 years, she was employed as retail store manager for Army and Air Force Exchange. In 1993, she moved to the Wheaton. She had attended the Wheaton United Methodist Church and Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.
Services were held Saturday, March 9, at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert conducted the services. Burial was at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton.
