James Doris “J.D.” Henson

James Doris “J.D.” Henson, 88, of Exeter, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cassville.

He was born March 27, 1930, in Purdy, the son of Orville and Rosa (Lyall) Henson. On Sept. 10, 1949, in Berryville, Ark., he was united in marriage to Wanda Colleen Starkey, who preceded him in death on March 9, 2015. Also preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include: two sons, James “Jim” Henson and his wife Analyn of Cassville, and Richard Henson and his wife Debra of Purdy; one daughter, Janice Holliday and her husband Paul of Exeter; three brothers, Bobby Wayne “Bob” Henson of California and Bill Henson and Donald “Don” Henson, both of Cassville; three sisters, Darlene Wierman of Cassville, Dollie Jean Sprenger of Ozark, and Irene Bates of Shell Knob; seven grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He grew up in Barry County where he received his education. He was of the Baptist faith.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Pastor Tony Ball will conduct the service.

Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Friday, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
