Larry Herman Barkhoff

Larry Herman Barkhoff, 75, of Purdy, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, at his home.

He was born July 23, 1943, in Logan, Iowa, the son of Russell and Lillian (Herman) Barkhoff. On April 24, 1971, he was united in marriage to Ardith Holybee, who survives.

Additional survivors include: two sons, Michael and his wife Carey of Monett, and Brian and his wife Sharena of Rogersville; two daughters, Melissa and her husband Travis of Cassville, and Amanda and her husband Denali of Branson; six grandchildren; one sister, Twyla Shearer of Utah; and one sister-in-law Lorraine Barkhoff.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Ron; and one brother-in-law Dwayne.

He grew up in Spirit Lake, Iowa, where he graduated from high school. He attended college in Grand Junction, Colo., where he received his Associates Degree in Journalism. For several years he was employed as a coal miner and laborer. He attended First Christian Church in Purdy.

Services were held Friday, Feb. 22, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
