Lady ‘Cats making the grade
Cassville softball receives state academic recognition
Softballs were not the only thing the Cassville softball team was hitting hard this season.
Last week, the Missouri softball coaches association released its 2018 Academic All-State teams and players list.
The Lady Wildcats dominated the field.
With a team grade point average of 3.81, the Lady Wildcats were fourth as a unit, just behind Centralia and School of the Osage, which recorded team GPAs of 3.88, and Monett, which had a 3.83.
Receiving individual recognition for Cassville were Madry, McCrackin, Adrien Lee, Schauna Dilbeck, Natalie McNeill, Tayler McCullah and McKayla Harvey.
The team is required by the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association to have a cumulative unweighted grade point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Requirements for recognition for individuals include having a 3.5-4.0 cumulative G.P.A., start a minimum of 70 percent of the team’s games, and achieve one of two criteria: 24 or higher on the ACT or be ranked in the top 25 percent of their class.
