Charles Aubrey Pilant
Charles Aubrey Pilant, 90, of Salem, Ore., passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019.
He was born June 19, 1928, in Cassville, the son of Aubrey Albert and Virgie Francis (Edie) Pilant. He married Mary “Lorain” Allison 72 years ago and she survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Chuck Pilant and his wife Pat of Shell Knob; one daughter, Mary Lou Williamson and her husband Les of Salem, Ore.; two brothers, Jim Pilant of Cassville, and Ronnie Pilant and his wife Sheileyn of Lebanon; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Howard “Bud” Pilant; and one sister, Sue Casner.
He grew up in Cassville and received his education at Black School. He was an automobile mechanic in Oregon and moved back to Cassville when he retired. Three years ago he and Loraine moved Oregon to be closer to family there. Before moving to Oregon he attended Community Faith Chapel in Cassville. Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 2, at Pilant Cemetery in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Randy Comer conducted the services.
