Bobby Joe “Bob” Cantwell
Bobby Joe “Bob” Cantwell, 77, of Cassville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at his home.
He was born June 5, 1941, in Cassville, the son of Clida and Wilma L. (DeCocq) Cantwell. On Jan. 19, 1963, he was united in marriage to Lana Watson, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Kevin Cantwell of Springfield; one daughter, Krisi Parker and her husband Johnny of Republic; three sisters, Bonnie Miller of Independence, and Beverly Ledenham and her husband Darrell and Brenda Epperly and her husband Dennis, all of Cassville; one brother-in-law, Dale Mitchell of Independence, and five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter-in-law, Lori Cantwell; one sister, Bette Mitchell; and a brother-in-law, LeRoy Miller.
He grew up and received his education in Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School in 1959. After high school he helped build Beaver Dam. In June of 1962, he received Christ as his Savior. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was ordained as a deacon on August 24, 1969 along with Ralph Paul and Ronnie Banks. He also served as music director in the church. He was a self-employed carpenter, building homes throughout southwest Missouri. He sang with the Zioneers and also Glory Bound, which performed at many events in southwest Missouri. Services were held Sunday, Feb. 3, at Corinth Baptist Church in Cassville under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
