Vehicles collide head on near Carr Lane

A Fayetteville, Ark., man died on Friday after a wreck at 4 p.m. on Highway 86, about four miles west of Carr Lane.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Steven Fare, 59, of Golden, was driving a 2015 Ford F-350 westbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck head on a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, being driven by John Rash, 58, of Fayetteville, Ark.

Rash was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:20 p.m. by Emergency Medical Technician Scott Jenkins. Fare and a passenger in Rash’s vehicle, Imelda Rash, 63, of Fayetteville, Ark., both suffered serious injuries and were flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

John and Imelda Rash were wearing safety devices, and Fare was not. both vehicles were totaled.

This is the seventh fatality of the year for Troop D of the Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
