Lady Wildcats takes 8th at tough Branson meet

While most wrestling teams in the state of Missouri sat idle due to Mother Nature effectively blanketing two-thirds of the state in deep snow, Cassville was able to wear out the mats in Branson.

The Wildcats took eighth place in the 15-team Branson Invitational.

The biggest finish came on the girls side, with Kelsey Harris taking second in the girls division. She becomes the first Lady Wildcats wrestler to place at a tournament.

On the boys side, individual placings were as follows: Gavin Moore, sixth; Gabe Hunter, fourth; Jaden Davis, fifth; Keaton Artherton, third; Jose Melchor, sixth; Colton Messbarger, eighth; Nate Boley, eighth; and Garrett Kritz, third.

Cassville travels to Seneca on Tuesday.
