A new event was brought to the table during the Exeter FFA’s 2018 Executive Retreat in late July — Angel Tree. Angel Tree is an event designed to help children within the school district who are in need during the holiday season, the children who were chosen were asked to write their Christmas lists out and an angel was placed on the tree anonymously with their wish-list written on it. Students, teachers and helpful members of the community could easily find the Angel Tree placed by the high school office, where they could “adopt” an angel. All 22 angels were soon adopted within just a couple days, and the shop was flooded with gifts. Pick up day on Dec. 17 was quickly upon the group, and parents were able to pull up and grab their children’s wished-for gifts with plenty of time left to get the already wrapped presents under the tree before Christmas. “It made my heart happy,” said Macy Barrett, Building Communities Committee Chair. The FFA extends huge thank you to everyone involved in making the Exeter FFA’s first Angel Tree such a success. Pictured are Lindsey Nelson and Lane Willis work diligently to wrap and prepare gifts.
