Celebration of Schools upcoming

The Southwest Center and Missouri Southern State University will be hosting the 21st Annual Celebration of Schools on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Celebration will be held at the Leggett and Platt Athletic Center located on the MSSU campus and will feature the achievement of 42 area consortium school districts. In attendance will be state and federal legislators, district administrators, teachers, school board members and community members.

Recognition and Special Awards will be given to honor the accomplishments of area educators and supporters including: “Friend-of-Education,” “Grades PK-6th Making Learning Come Alive,” “Grades 7-12 Making Learning Come Alive,” “Dr. Al Cade Service Award,” Teachers of the Year, school board members and legislators, and other outstanding achievements within the school districts.

The Southwest Center for Educational Excellence is an educational service agency serving 42 school districts, two universities, and one junior college. The 42 school districts educate over 55,000 students and employ over 7,000 employees. The goal of Center is to provide high-quality, on-going and relevant professional development.
