BBQ Dinner a success at Central Crossing
Anyone in Shell Knob on Oct. 6 may have noticed that there were a lot of good dining choices.
Yet, that didn't dampen the spirits, nor the appetites, of those who attended the barbecue fund raiser supper at the Central Crossing Senior Center.
“The food was excellent, the service was great, the diners were happy, and with over 100 in attendance, some funds were raised to help run the Center,” said Jeff Harp, Central Crossing Senior Center public relations specialist. “It is appropriate to thank Harter House for their support, as well as the community and our many volunteers who helped make this fundraiser a success.
“It takes a lot to run a Center such as what we have in our community. If you've been to the Central Crossing Senior Center, you already know it is really a premier facility that rivals or surpasses nearly any center you'll find in even large metropolitan cities. That is due entirely to the efforts and dedication of our benefactors, our volunteers and the community at large.”
Harp said anyone who has never been to the Center is missing out.
“Besides great meals and conversation, there are so many activities going on always,” he said. “We invite you to come visit Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Terri, our Administrator will be happy to show you around.”
The Central Crossing Senior Center is located at 20801 YY-15 in Shell Knob. For more information, people may call 417-858-6952.
