Darrel L. Smith
Darrel L. Smith, 79, of Aurora, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
He was born March 20, 1939 in Chiloquin, Ore., the son of Loren and Velma (Starkey) Smith. On Jan. 12, 1959, in Aurora, he was united in marriage to Vera Stockton, who survives.
Additional survivors include: four sons, Marty Smith and his wife Jodi of Aurora, Brian Smith and his wife Brenda of Crane, Ronald Smith and his wife Rhonda of Cassville, and Donald Smith and his wife Debbie of Cassville; one daughter Tonya Smith of Aurora; two brothers, Dennis Smith and his wife Shirley of North Carolina and Randall Smith and his wife Barbara of Texas; three sisters, Freda Padgett Ray of Aurora, Maxine Stockton and her husband Duane of Cassville, and Willadean Lane and her husband Kenneth of Springfield; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Louise Stockton.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Glenna Smith, Naomi Ray and Geneva Dutton; three brothers-in-law, Ray Padgett, Leon Ray and Rodney Dutton and his father-in-law, Billy Stockton.
He graduated from Cassville High School. For over 30 years, he was employed as a printer for MWM Dexter in Aurora. He was a member of Cornerstone Church of God in Marionville. Services were held Tuesday at Faith Full Gospel Church in Aurora under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Burial was at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins.
