Southwest Junior High wins home tournament

The Southwest Junior High School boys A team won the Southwest Tournament, beating Exeter 52-17 in the semifinals and topping Wheaton 38-28 in the championship. Leading Southwest in scoring in the semifinal was Brendyn Paulsen with 16, followed by Zak Starr with 13 and Zach Corwin with 11. Rounding out the scoring was Colton Pendergraft with 6, Lucas Lakey with 5 and Otis Rainer with 1. In the final, leading the Trojans in scoring was Starr with a game-high 19, followed by Corwin with 6, Paulsen with 4, Rainer with 4, Lakey with 3 and Allen Hendrix with 2. The Southwest B team took second place in the tournament behind Wheaton.
