Cassville cross-country tearing up the trails

Cassville roars at Lamar cross-country event

The Cassville cross-country team turned in a solid performance at the Lamar Invitational on Thursday.

Jordyn Stafford turned in the performance of the day, taking second place in the girls division with a 21:22.20. She finished just behind Kaci Singer, of Aurora, with a 20:58.30.

Stafford was the lone varsity female entry for Cassville.

On the boys’ side, Stockton won the event with 89 points. Carthage was second with 140 points. The Wildcats took 10th in the 21-team field with 269 points.

In the junior varsity division, Cassville took fourth out of five teams with 104 points. Stockton was first with 24.

The Lady Wildcats middle school squad finished third out of nine teams.
