Cassville JV tops Patriots, 61-0

It was all about the defense Monday night for the JV Cassville Wildcats.

The defense put up three scores off of interceptions returned for touchdowns and had a blocked punt in a winning effort over the East Newton JV.

Cassville would get on the board four times in the first quarter, with touchdown runs by Killian Barbee and Colton Messbarger, and interceptions returned by Jacob Olbertz and Michael Hunter, making the score 29-0 after the first.

Cassville would add three scores in the second with a run of 18 yards by Hunter, an 8-yard touchdown reception by Brett Cooper and a 38-yard interception return by Jericho Farris, making the halftime score 53-0.

Cassville freshman Cutter Hicks would add a touchdown from 2 yards out in the 3rd quarter to make the final score 61-0.

Cassville’s JV moves to 5-0 on the season.
