David Max Long
David Max Long, 77, of, Butterfield, passed away Sept. 19, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born on Feb. 1, 1941, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Charles Bernola and Zuma Kathryn (Weatherly) Long.
On Oct. 11, 1963, he was united in marriage to Phyllis E. Byrd. They divorced in 1989. He farmed, raised cattle, and was a truck driver for Tyson Foods, from which he retired.
He married Wanda K. Wolf on Oct. 21, 2004, in Eureka Springs, Ark. They divorced in 2007.
Survivors include: his daughter, Connie Mae and her husband John Corlett of Ash Grove; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; eight brothers, Jim, George, Bill, Lloyd, John, Harold “Buster”, Gary, and Errol; and two sisters, Betty (Long) Bartel and Beverly (Long) Garber.
He attended school at Jenkins and Cassville. Graveside services were held Sept. 23, at Gunter Cemetery in Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jerry Nickle conducted the services.
