Man arrested with a pound of meth
71-year-old Purdy resident arrested for alleged distribution
A Purdy man has been arrested and charged with drug trafficking after a drug bust allegedly caught him with more than one pound of methamphetamine.
The Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team and Barry County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant Friday afternoon at a home on Farm Road 1095 in Purdy. The warrant led to the arrest of Guadalupe Rodriguez, 71, who was allegedly found to be in possession of 478 grams, equal to 1.05 pounds, of suspected methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $47,000. He was also in possession of a loaded firearm.
Rodriguez was arrested for for distribution of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime. He has been charged in Barry County Circuit Court with second-degree drug trafficking, a class A felony.
The Cassville Police Department also assisted in the investigation with its K-9 Unit. Bond was set at $100,000, cash only. Rodriguez’s initial appearance was Tuesday in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
