Charles “Scott” Williams
Charles “Scott” Williams, 80, of Golden, passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was born July 12, 1938, in Clearfield, Ky., the son of Joseph Ralph Williams and Elizabeth Pearl (Jenkins) Williams. He was united in marriage to Arlene Fay (Hanrahan) Williams on Feb. 9, 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Arthur L. Watson; his infant son and his brother, Samuel Keith Williams.
Survivors include: his wife, Arlene F. (Hanrahan) Williams of Golden; daughters, Teresa Lynn Williams Fee (Jack Fee) of Bryan, Ohio, Sheryl Renee Williams Lancaster (Scott Lancaster) of Albuquerque, N.M.; Lora Jayne Williams (Alicia Babcock) of Ashland, Ohio, Jeannine Lyn Webb Mengel of Sunbury, Ohio, and Melanie Renee Gipson (Brian Gipson) of Golden; 16 grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Milton Union High School in West Milton, Ohio, in May 1957. He attended Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Ill. He was president of the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Montpelier, Ohio. During his term in this position he became co-founder of the Community Bankers Association of Ohio, retiring in 2000, due to health reasons.
He was a member of Holiday Island Community Church.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at The Holiday Island Community Church, Holiday Island, Ark.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
