Vehicle fails to yield on Route B

Three people were injured Thursday following a wreck at 5:15 p.m. on Route B, 4.5 miles west of Purdy.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Teresa Crouch, 25, of Exeter, was driving a 2014 Jeep Patriot southbound when the vehicle failed to yield and struck a westbound 20014 Chevrolet Malibu, being driven by Ashlea Benedict, 31, of Fairview.

Crouch suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Benedict suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital ion Springfield.

Crouch was wearing a safety device, and Benedict was not. Both vehicles were totaled.

Following that wreck, Brian Cornman, driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado, approached the incident and avoided the wrecked vehicles, traveling off the right side of the roadway and striking a ditch.

Cornman suffered minor injuries and was transported to Cox Monett Hospital. His vehicle sustained moderate damage.
