Cassville scratches Aurora, 42-12

In a game where Cassville Coach Lance Parnell challenged his Wildcats to take the fight to the opposition, the Black and Gold answered the call for a 42-12 victory on Friday.

Cassville jumped out to a 14-0 lead with 8:17 left in the second quarter.

The Houní Dawgs bit back and pulled within 14-6 with 3:31 left in the first half, but the Wildcats responded to take a 21-6 edge into the intermission.

Not all was smooth for Cassville in the first two quarters. They coughed the ball up three times. A fourth turnover came in the third quarter and led to a Houní Dawg score.

The Wildcats then found their legs and scored 21 unanswered points to pull away.

Cassville, 1-0, returns home Friday to open the home portion of its schedule, welcoming Springfield Catholic to Wildcat Stadium.

Cassville will also recognize players from its first district title team before the game
