Exeter man dies in Hwy. 76 wreck

Vehicle turns into path of another southeast of Stella

An Exeter man died Saturday following a wreck at 2:30 p.m. on Highway 76, four miles south of Stella.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Randall Hensley, 60, of Exeter, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado westbound when his vehicle turned into the path of a 1999 Honda Passport, being driven by Shayla Lantz, 21, of Goodman.

Hensley was flown to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin and pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. by Dr. Kenneth Offutt. A passenger in the vehicle, Robin Hensley, 60, of Exeter, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to Freeman West Hospital. Lantz was not injured.

Lantz was wearing a safety device. Randall Hensley and Robin Hensley were not. Both vehicles were totaled.

This is the 81st fatality of the year for Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
