Burn ban extended in Barry County

The burn ban in Barry County is set to be extended, as recent spotty rains have not saturated all areas of the county enough to lift it. According to the Cassville Fire Protection District, some areas are still very dry, and the ban applies to the county as a whole and can not be split into certain areas. The District, State Fire Marshal’s Office and Barry County Commission discussed the ban, resulting in a decision to keep the ban in place and review it again on Thursday.
