Vehicle overturns north of Golden

A Kansas City man was arrested following a wreck at 6:30 p.m. on Shawnee Drive, west of Farm Road 1225 and five miles north of Golden.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Terry Maxwell, 57, of Kansas City, was riding a 2010 Kawasaki side-by-side motorcycle westbound when his vehicle ran off the roadway, causing the driver to overcorrect and the vehicle to overturn.

Maxwell suffered serious injuries and was flown to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

He was not wearing a safety device, and the motorcycle sustained minor damage.

At 6:40 p.m., Maxwell was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, driving while revoked and no safety device.
