John “Rick” Horn
John “Rick” Horn, 74, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
He was born July 19, 1944, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William Horn and Dorothy (Boyd) Horn. On Dec. 24, 1962, he was united in marriage to Sue Clark, who survives.
Also surviving are: one son, Jim Horn of Purdy; two daughters, Lannetta “Netta” Ellis and her husband Jerry of Washburn, and Ann Nickle and her husband Doug of Cassville; one sister, JoAnn Beeson and her husband Mitchell of Monett; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn; two brothers, Bill Horn and Dale Roller and one sister Barbara Stilwell.
He received his education in Butterfield and Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School. For several years, he was employed as a machinist at G&R Industries in Purdy, and then at FASCO in Cassville as a tool and die maker. After his retirement he farmed full time. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Butterfield, where he was a trustee. For 46 years, he was sexton for Russell Cemetery in Butterfield.
Graveside services were held Saturday, July 28, at Russell Cemetery in Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor David Eaton, Sr. and Pastor Mike Renfrow conducted the services.
