Opal Louise Glisson
Opal Louise Glisson, 77, of Wheaton, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at her home.
She was born Aug. 8, 1940, in Barry County, the daughter of Spencer and Grace (Womack) Wallace. On Dec. 23, 1959, in Wichita, Kan., she was united in marriage to Clell Glisson, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Steven Tyler Glisson of Joplin; three daughters, Tonya Kendall and her husband Chris of Georgia, Vt., Tracy Fisher of Seminole, Okla., and Sheila Kirst of Park City, Utah; one brother, Johnny Wallace and his wife Wilma of Berryville, Ark.; two sisters, Junie Brown of Wheaton, and Joann Hatcher and her husband Fred of Eureka Springs, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters and two grandsons.
She grew up in Barry County where she received her education. She attended beauty and business school and spent much of her life as a self-employed hairdresser. For 40 years, she resided in Owasso, Okla., before moving back to Barry County to live in Wheaton.
Services were held Tuesday, June 5, at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Burial was at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Okla.
