Arthur L. “Junior” McIntire, 85, of Purdy, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018, at his home.
He was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Birch Tree, the son of Arthur and Vernie McIntire. On June 3, 1977, he was united in marriage to Georgie (Ash) Moller, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one daughter, Pam Miller and her husband Carl of Monett; one son, Ted McIntire and his wife Roxanne of Purdy; two stepsons, Matt Moller and his wife Connie of Billings, and Mark Moller and his wife Susan of Purdy; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Dorothy.
He served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 16, 1954, until Feb. 15, 1956, in the motor corp. He worked for a while in Washington and Oregon as a logger. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator, owning dozers, backhoes and dump trucks. For many years, he also worked for the Pioneer Road District. He was a member of Log Church east of Butterfield and was baptized on the front porch of his home with water from Gunter Creek.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Log Church Memorial Garden Cemetery east of Butterfield under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Carolyn McNabb will conduct the services.
