Roaring River Health and Rehab earns 5-star statuts

Facility below state, national averages in key categories

With a dedicated team of excellent staff all working toward a singular goal, to provide excellent care, Roaring River Health and Rehab was granted the 5-star status as determined by the criteria set forth by CMS and DHSS.

The criteria includes annual and complaint inspections and quality measures to determine a overall rating. Roaring River Health and Rehab was given an above average rating for the health inspections and have not had any complaint inspections that resulted in a deficiency.

Roaring River Health and Rehab rated much above average in the quality measures as compared to state and national averages. Some of them are:

• The percentage of residents who were admitted for rehabilitation and successfully returned to the community: facility average is 68 percent, state average is 53 percent and national average is 57 percent

• The percent of residents who were admitted for rehabilitation and received an antipsychotic medication for the first time: facility average is 0 percent, state average 2 percent, and national average is 2 percent

• The percentage of long term residents who experienced one or more fall that resulted in a major injury: facility average is 1.9 percent, state average is 4.1 percent, and national average is 3.4 percent

• The percentage of long term residents who lost too much weight: facility average is 6.8 percent, state average is 7.2 percent, and national average is 7.1 percent

• The percentage of long term residents who received an antipsychotic medication: facility average is 11.6 percent, state average is 19 percent, and national average is 15.7 percent.
