Daron Evans has joined the Cassville Community Foundation as a part-time coordinator for the volunteer-led Board of Governors.

Evans will handle a variety of responsibilities related to the CCF’s meetings, special events and grantmaking activities. With his expertise, the CCF Board hopes to build a stronger stream of financial and in-kind support for local nonprofits.

Evans is a native of Tahlequah, Okla., and attended college at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology. He formerly served as children's minister of First Baptist Church in Cassville, then pursued his lifelong-dream of becoming a career firefighter, currently holding the rank of captain with the city of Springfield Fire Department. Evans previously served as administrator for the Cassville Fire Protection District.

Evans and his wife of 25 years, Jennifer, continue to live in Cassville with their three children, Jaci, Pace and Jolie.

The CCF, founded in 2004, oversees assets of more than $830,000 as of Dec. 31, 2017.
