Cassville hosting preschool, kindergarten, Kinder Academy screenings
The Cassville school district will be hosting screenings events for children preparing to attend preschool, kindergarten and Kinder Academy.
The preschool screening will take place on April 6 and April 13 for children ages 3 and 4. Parents should call the primary office at 417-847-2445 to schedule an appointment.
The DIAL-4 test will screen preschool-age children in the following areas: Concepts, Language and Motor Development. Vision, hearing and articulation will also be screened. The screening will take approximately one hour to complete, and results will be shared with parents.
Children who are currently in the Title 1 preschool or who will be eligible to attend kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year should not participate in the screening.
Screening results will be used to determine eligibility for the district's two preschool programs: Title 1 preschool and early childhood special education preschool.
Kindergarten and Kinder Academy
The kindergarten and Kinder Academy screening will take place on April 10 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m, and Thursday, April 12 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the primary school.
Children will be screened and paperwork completed by the parent/guardian. Screening results will help determine KinderAcademy placement.
Parents should call the primary office to schedule an appointment.
Children should be 5 years old before August 1 to participate in the screening.
Parents must bring:
• Child's birth certificate
• Child's immunization records
• Proof of residency (current gas or electric bill)
• Photo ID of parent
