Joe Dean Myers
Joe Dean Myers, age 56, of Shell Knob, Missouri, formerly of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at his home. He was born February 11, 1961 in Monett, Missouri, the son of Don and Mary Ruth (Vaught) Myers.
Joe was a 1979 graduate of Republic High School in Republic, Missouri and was a retired United Parcel Service feeder truck driver. He enjoyed writing music and was a singer/song writer and a member of the Church in Action in Mt. Vernon.
On August 18, 1990, he married Kathy Spivey in Springfield, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kathy; one son, Caleb Myers, of Rowlett, Texas; one daughter, Kelby Myers of Springfield; one sister, Linda Mace and her husband, Dave, of Rolla, Missouri; one brother, Nick Myers and his wife, Brenda, of Shell Knob; his father, Don Myers and his wife, Glenda, of Shell Knob; his mother, Mary Ruth Myers of Springfield; his father-in-law, Vaughn Spivey and his wife, Donna, of Nixa, Missouri and his mother-in-law, Shirley Huff and her husband, Dale, of Mt. Vernon.
A celebration of Joe’s life was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the Church in Action, in Mt. Vernon. Visitation was held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements were under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri.
Memorial donations in memory of Joe, may be made payable to the Church in Action for the Teen Challenge Women’s Ministry or Convoy of Hope.
