George Arthur Larson, Sr.

George Arthur Larson, Sr., 77, of Marionville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at The Ozarks Methodist Manor.

He was born Oct. 27, 1940, in Kansas City, the only son of Robert Sterling and Mary Agnes (Dunlap) Larson.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia Swearengen. Additional survivors include: one son, George Arthur Larson, Jr. of Missouri; five daughters, Christine Elaine (Larson) Griffen and her husband Jeff, Bonnie Ann Larson and Jill Annette (Larson) Thomas and her husband Christopher all of Oregon, Stacy Lynn (Larson) Davisson and her husband Kenneth of Missouri and Carrie Renee Larson of Oregon; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He received his education in Kansas City, where he graduated from Southeast High School in 1958. He then received his welding certification from Stevinson Auto & Electrical School in 1965. He spent thirteen years at Kansas City Power & Light and then ten years at Colgate-Palmolive. After retirement, he moved to Shell Knob where he owned and operated Larson Enterprises. He was a member of Lakeside Christian Church in Shell Knob.

Memorial services were held Saturday at Lakeside Christian Church in Shell Knob. Lead Pastor Dow Escalante and Pastor Chet Shaw conducted the services. Burial was at Sharon Cemetery in Drexel.

Cremation arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob.
