Deputies searching for man who held 3 hostage
Man with no weapon fled from scene when deputies arrived
Barry County deputies are searching for a man who allegedly held two women and a child hostage at a home off route E in Eagle Rock early Tuesday morning.
Gary Davis, Barry County sheriff, said the incident started as a domestic call where a woman was at another woman's house and a man with whom the woman had relations came to the residence and would not allow the two women and a child to go. Davis said no weapon was found, and when deputies began arriving at the home, the man fled from the scene, possibly out a back window.
Davis said the Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT team was called, as the women were not answering the phone used to call 911 and would not come out of the house. He said the SWAT team pulled a vehicle up to the house and used an intercom system to coax the victims out.
Davis said the suspect is not in custody, and deputies could possibly charge him with felonious restraint, burglary and violation of an ex parte order. Davis said the ex parte was amended on Monday, and he is unsure how any changes could affect a possible charge.
Davis said the investigation is ongoing.
