Cassville hoops underway
Squad off to solid starts, tourney finishes
It was a great weekend for Cassville hoops, as the Wildcats took third in the Marionville Comet Invitational and the Lady Wildcats took second in the Blue Eye Invitational.
Entering play Tuesday night, the Lady Wildcats were 3-1.
Cassville took the first two games in Blue Eye, defeating Exeter, 65-22, and upsetting Spokane, 52-38.
However, the luck ran out in the championship as the Lady Wildcats succumbed to host Blue Eye, 56-26
In the win over Exeter, Madi Stokes recorded 21 points, Madry McCrackin added 12 points and Ashlynn Howe finished with 9 points. Hallie Long reached double-digits in assists with 10 in the game.
Against the Lady Owls, McCrackin led the way with 17 points. Stokes recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Howe finished with 9 points and Alondra Miller chipped in 8 points. Hallie Long contributed 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the victory. Scoring in the championship game was not provided by press time.
The Wildcats, 3-2 on the season, defeated Miller 54-44, before getting tripped up by Marionville in the semifinal, 49-46.
Cassville finished strong with a 60-52 win over Greenfield in the third-place game and followed that win up with a 66-59 victory over Neosho on Monday night.
Scoring for the games was not available by press time.
Cassville’s girls head to Reeds Spring on Monday and the boys travel to Blue Eye on Tuesday.
