First Baptist delivering Thanksgiving meals

On Thanksgiving Day, First Baptist Church in Cassville will deliver hot meals to homebound individuals. Those who are homebound, or who would like to submit the name of a homebound individual to receive a Thanksgiving meal, may call the First Baptist Church office at 417-847-2965 by Monday.

Christmas Parade marching down Main Dec. 2

The 2017 Cassville Christmas Parade will be held on Main Street on Dec. 2 beginning at 6 p.m. Entries will begin lining up at Cassville High School at 4 p.m. Division prizes include the Kids Choice Award, sponsored by Hutchens Construction, and the prize is $1,000 for the best float. Other categories include religious, non-religious, commercial, marching bands, single-unit vehicles and horse drawn. Entries are due by Nov. 22. The parade will conclude on Clover Street. Christmas shopping event set for Saturday

A Christmas Shopping Extravaganza will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crowder College Cassville campus, located at 4020 N. Main St. in Cassville. More than 25 different direct sales and hand-crafted vendors will be at the event. They include: Diva Bling by Jenn, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Scentsy, Thirty One, Simply Weezee, Cutie Bowtootie, Project Graduation Gift Wrapping, Judy Rickman Crafts, LipSense, Usborne Books, Roden & Fields, Paparazzi, Lula Roe, Jordan Essentials, Tattered Scrap, Magnabilities, TJ Creations and many more. Santa will also be available at the event for photos.

Cassville Student Council hosting yard sale

The Cassville Student council will host a yard sale on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the FEMA Event Center in Cassville. All proceeds will support STUCO events. Items may be donated at the Event Center on Friday from 3-7 p.m. Pickup of items may also possibly be arranged. Wheaton Christmas Parade scheduled for Dec. 9

The city of Wheaton will host its annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 9 at 6 p.m., with the line-up at Body of Christ Ministries between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Those who wish to be in the parade should call 417-652-3314, or after 4 p.m., call 417-350-7522. People may come have their picture taken with Santa, and receive a bag of candy prior to the parade, from 4-5:30 p.m., or after the parade at the train depot. There will also be chili, hot dogs, hot chocolate and cookies after the parade.

Ozark Festival Orchestra to perform ‘Messiah’ in Cassville

The Ozark Festival Orchestra, soloists and a community choir will perform selections from Handel’s “Messiah” at 7 p.m. On Dec. 16 at the Family Life Center of the First Baptist Church, 602 West St. in Cassville. Singers from the Cassville area are still welcome to join rehearsals for the community choir, which are being held at 2 p.m. Sundays at the First United Methodist Church, 1600 N. Central in Monett.
