On Saturday, Sept. 30, four Cassville FFA members, Daniel Hudson, Nate Hudson, Roper Stone and Andrew Littlefield (pictured in photo), participated in the American Royal Calf Scramble. The students competed for a chance to receive a $1,250 voucher to purchase a weanling heifer to raise and show for the next year. The students went through an interview process, then, during the intermission of the PRCA rodeo, they caught a calf, haltered it, and led it back to the middle of the arena as part of the competition. Three of the four students received vouchers, including members Daniel Hudson, Roper Stone and Andrew Littlefield. Next year, they will return to show their heifers during the American Royal Livestock Show. Contributed photo
