Norma “Gayle” Russell
Norma “Gayle” Russell, 80, of Jenkins, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1937 in Stone County near James River the daughter of William Earl and Ella (Gore) Dotson. On May 31, 1956 in Cassville, she was united in marriage to Doyle Russell, who survives.
Additional survivors include: four daughters, Jeannie Lester of Monett, Jeanette Doty and her husband Rick of Monett, Mary Griffis and her husband Calvin of Cassville, and Marie Wattman of Pineville; one son, Danny Russell and his wife Brenda of Cassville; one sister, Janice Crow of Aurora; two brothers, Jule Dotson of Marionville, and Howard Dotson of Billings; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother.
She received her education at Reeds Spring, where she graduated from high school. She and Doyle supported the Navajo Indian Mission in Old Mexico and Arizona. She was a member of Community Faith Church, where she and Doyle pastored for 35 years. She taught children Sunday school for many years. Gayle and Doyle were also missionary senior pastors of the church in the Philippines.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Community Faith Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jimmie Copley, Pastor Rick Cooper and Pastor Donnie Spears conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Cassville.
