James Elias “Jim” Long

James Elias “Jim” Long, 64, of Cassville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

He was born March 19, 1953, in York, Neb., the son of Dean Melvin and Luella Mae (Warren) Long, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Lee Annette Long and Shirley Maggard and a sister-in-law, Kaye Long.

Survivors include: one sister, Terri Evans of Cassville; and five brothers, Chuck Long and his wife Polly of Cassville, Tony Long and his wife Debbie of Sparta, Bob Long and his wife Tenah of Ozark, Doug Long, of Springfield, and Jeff Long and his wife Sherry of Purdy.

He graduated from high school in Ozark, and attended Oklahoma State University. He was a self-employed mechanic. Twenty years ago, he moved to Cassville to make his home.

Services were held Monday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Bob Long conducted the services. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Prospect Cemetery in Ozark.
