Central Crossing Senior Center presents Business Partner Plaque to the Thrifty Closet

Wednesday, November 8, 2017
On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Central Crossing Senior Center presented a Business Partner Plaque to the Thrifty Closet, an outreach ministry of the Central Community United Methodist Church of Shell Knob, at the Thrifty Closet Volunteer Luncheon held at the Central Community United Methodist Church. The Center presented the plaque to recognize the businesses’ consistent, monthly donations that help keep a salad bar available to seniors. The senior center works to provide balanced and nutritious meal options to participating seniors, such as a salad bar, however, budget cuts in recent years nearly prevented that, requiring donations to keep it the healthy lunch option on the menu. The Center reports that the Thrifty Closet has been a substantial donor towards the monthly costs of keeping the salad bar available, for which they expressed gratitude to the business, their Board of Directors, and volunteers.
