goBEC to hold Seligman meetings for fiberoptic internet service
Right-of-way easements will be on hand for property owners
goBEC, a subsidiary of Barry Electric, is offering Seligman residents the opportunity to learn how to get fiberoptic internet service in the area, the latest in internet technology, on two select dates.
On Thursday from 5-8 p.m and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., goBEC will be holding town hall meetings at Seligman City Hall in the courtroom to answer questions about the service. The company will also have right-of-way easements on hand for property owners to sign.
Representatives hope that, by offering the meetings and coming directly to residents, that service can be accelerated to the Seligman area.
"We are currently working on easements in the Seligman area," said J.R. Smith, goBEC manager. "It's a time for property owners to come in and ask what we're going to be doing, and to give us permission to do our work. If we have those [easements], it speeds up the process. The meetings will also give others the chance to ask questions about the service, our price structure, etc.
"If there's a lot of interest, we'll have more in the future."
