Warm food, costumed characters gather in Wheaton

For the 10th year, the Wheaton Historical Society hosted the public for a chili, bean or hot dog dinner fundraiser on Saturday in the city park. David Shockley dished up some of the warm chili to help warm customers on a cool night. Others pictured helping are Bill Davis at rear, Nola McMillen and Ferman Prewitt at right. The event also featured an auction of donated items, including an electric smoker from Chad Horton, $100 from Jim Fohn as well as Security Bank, cases of antifreeze and oil from D&D Oil, gift certificates from Holmes Farm Supply and oil changes from Les Jacobs Ford, Country Dodge and Wheaton Automotive.
