Large appliances may be picked up at curb for fee
Those looking to clean house of larger garbage items will have the opportunity to do so next week, as the Cassville fall clean-up event is scheduled for Monday through Nov. 3.
Republic Services will accept additional household waste and large items on regular collection days.
The following items will be accepted at the curb: barbecue grills; patio furniture; outdoor furniture; sofas; dressers; loveseats; recliners; desks; televisions; bundled guttering; beds, including hide-a-beds, mattresses, and box springs; wood pallets; waste from small remodeling or wood projects, with materials cut into four-foot sections and stacked; sinks; toilets; cabinets; vanities; carpet that is cut into four-foot lengths and bundled; fencing that is cut into four-foot lengths; and bicycles.
Republic Services will not accept tires, yard waste, large quantities of ash, dead animals, raw sewage, waste oil, hazardous materials, wet paint containers, chemicals, lead or acid batteries, flammable substances or waste from large remodeling or construction projects.
Cassville residents may also set large appliances at their curb side for Republic Services to collect. There is a $15 fee for such appliances. Residents must pay the fee to Republic Services in order to schedule the pick-up of the appliance. The following large appliances will be accepted after the $15 fee has been paid: dishwashers; washing machines; dryers; hot water heaters; and stoves. Republic Services will also accept refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners that display a tag from a licensed technician proving that all freon has been removed from the item.
Yard waste will be accepted as normal at the Yard Waste facility behind the Cassville Aquatic Park.
