Elma Lou Pitts, 89, of Willow Springs, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Willow Care Nursing Home, Willow Springs.  She was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Wheaton, the daughter of Earl and Juanita (Higgs) Antle.

She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1946. She was married to Robert M. Pitts in 1950.

Survivors include: her children, Robert Scott Pitts and wife, Debra, of Willow Springs, and Holly Noell Lacey and husband, Mike, of Exeter; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She spent her younger years in the Wheaton and Barry County area. She had been a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, in Wheaton, but was a member of the First Baptist Church in Willow Springs at the time of her death. She was involved in raising and training Tennessee Walking Horses and competed in numerous horse shows throughout the area, winning multiple ribbons.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Scott Mitchell conducted the services.
