Isaac “Ike” Robert Petty
Isaac “Ike” Robert Petty, Jr., 83 of Sacramento, Calif., died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, after dealing with years of illness. He was born in Cassville, on Jan. 8, 1934, and was the son of Isaac R. Petty, Sr., and Vena (Bickford) Petty Munday.
He was a 1952 graduate of Cassville High School. He attended Ozark Bible College and then entered the U.S. Navy, where he served for four years, and received an honorable discharge. He lived in California most of his adult years.
Survivors include: one brother, Vern (Lois) Petty of Cassville; one sister, Maxine (Jim) Petty Broan of Fairport, N.Y.; 11 nephews; 9 nieces; 16 first cousins; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, seven sisters and two brothers.
His wishes to donate his body to science at the University of California Davis were carried out.
A commemorative gravestone will be placed in the Mineral Springs Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held there at a later date.
