Henderson-Davis reunion set for Saturday

The Henderson-Davis Family Reunion will be held at Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church, near Purdy on Saturday at 11 a.m. Invited are the extended family of the Wesley Samuel Henderson/Vera Gertrude Henderson Davis/George Ewin Davis family to attend, as well as immediate family members. Attendees should bring a potluck lunch, as well as old pictures of the family. Any friends are invited, too.

New group forms for single mothers

Single moms with a desire to connect with other moms going through the same struggles can now join with others who share some of the same day-to-day struggles. A monthly Care Group for Single Moms will kick off on Monday at the Family Life Center, located at 200 West 5th St. in Cassville. This evening of fun, food and fellowship is being planned to bless and encourage single moms. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a home-cooked meal. The care group time concludes at 7 p.m.  Simultaneously, there will be planned activities for the children. The Care Group for Single Moms is part of The Caring People, which is a Christian organization that reaches out to single moms. Christian women are trained to lead care groups in which single moms receive unconditional love and friendship. It was founded by JoDee Herschend in 1997. One in four homes in America is headed by a single mom. Discover more about The Caring People at www.thecaringpeople.org.

Holloway family reunion scheduled

The annual Holloway Family Reunion will be held on Sunday beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Log Church, located east of Butterfield. All family members are invited to attend.

Blood Drive at Southwest High School set for Oct. 17

A blood drive will be held at Southwest High School on Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to students, teachers, staff and the public. Participants will receive a free T-shirt. The event is co-sponsored by the Southwest Student Council and the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. For more information or to reserve a time to donate, people may call 417-826-5413.

Jenkins Fish Fry set for October

The Jenkins Fire Department Fish Fry will be Saturday at Station No. 1 at Flat Creek Bridge on Highway 248. Music by Ripplin’ Creek will begin at 4:30 p.m. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 7 p.m. The Auction will start at 6 p.m. The menu consists of fish or chicken, baked beans, slaw, hush puppies, dessert and a drink. Cost is $9 for adults, and children 10 and under are $4. For more information, people may call Sara at 417-342-4243.
