Donna Lou Smith Spencer
Donna Lou Smith Spencer passed away on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017.
She was born in Joplin, on July 27, 1933, the only child of Arthur P. Smith and Leta Davidson Smith of Pineville. She graduated from Bentonville High School in Bentonville, Ark., where she was homecoming queen and Rodeo Queen of the Ozarks.
She was a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., where she earned her degree in Elementary Education and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
On June 5, 1955, she married Edward E. Spencer in Cassville.
She was a teacher in the Cassville and Mt. Vernon, public school systems for over 30 years. She was a believer in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include: her husband, Edward E. Spencer of Mt. Vernon; her sons Brian A. Spencer of Farmington, Ark., and Scott E. Spencer and wife Gale of Poplar Bluff; and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the First Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, MO to be followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Burial will be at 2 P.M. Thursday at the Pineville Cemetery in Pineville.
