New group forms for single mothers

Single moms with a desire to connect with other moms going through the same struggles can now join with others who share some of the same day-to-day struggles. A monthly Care Group for Single Moms will kick off on Oct. 9 at the Family Life Center, located at 200 West 5th St. in Cassville. This evening of fun, food and fellowship is being planned to bless and encourage single moms. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a home-cooked meal. The care group time concludes at 7 p.m.  Simultaneously, there will be planned activities for the children. The Care Group for Single Moms is part of The Caring People, which is a Christian organization that reaches out to single moms. Christian women are trained to lead care groups in which single moms receive unconditional love and friendship. It was founded by JoDee Herschend in 1997. One in four homes in America is headed by a single mom. Discover more about The Caring People at www.thecaringpeople.org.
