Shell Knob Chamber to sponsor Multi-Species fishing tournament
All ages, abilities will seek to hook any six species of fish
The Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a multi-species fishing tournament on Table Rock Lake Saturday.
The tournament is designed for all fishing abilities and ages. Entrants are encouraged to fish with family members or friends. A multi-species tournament is a different type of event intended to attract anglers with interest in the many different species of game fish available on Table Rock Lake.
The take-off and measure-in will be held at Kings River Marina south of Shell Knob. Take-off is at 8 a.m., and the measure-in will be held at the marina at 2 p.m. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the measure-in event.
Once registered, two-member teams can fish from boats anywhere on the lake. Entry fee is $40 per-team. An optional 100-percent payback longest fish pot is also available.
Cash prizes will be awarded for first and second-place teams. There will be a drawing after the measure-in for several prizes donated by area businesses.
Species included in the tournament are black bass, white bass, walleye, catfish, crappie and panfish. There are a limited number of fish that can be measured for each species.
Winners will be determined by the total length of fish presented at the measure-in. There will be a special award for any team presenting a legal fish from each of the six species categories.
Registration forms are available at the Shell Knob Chamber office, area businesses and online at www.shellknob.com. Tournament rules are included on the registration form.
