Jim Arthur, 69, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1948, son of James K and Wanda (Phipps) Arthur. He was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Nevada. He graduated Nevada High School in 1966. He attended Pittsburg State University and the University of Central Missouri. On June 1, 1968, Jim married Vicki Curtis of Nevada.
He served in the U.S. Army March 10, 1972, to March 7, 1975. He completed his degree in accounting from Missouri Southern State University. He worked as a CPA for Baird, Kurt and Dobson in Joplin, before returning to Nevada to head up Arthur Accounting upon his fatherís retirement.
Survivors include: his son Josh, Mt. Shasta, Calif., and his daughter, Ashley and husband Dan Harding, Portland, Ore.; his mother, Wanda Arthur; two sisters, Twila Earll and her husband Jim, and Renee Hampton, all of Nevada.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Lieutenant Colonel James K. Arthur; and two brothers, Terry and Greg.
Memorial services were held Sept. 20 at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, with Pastor David Donaldson officiating.
Interment will be at Fort Scott National Cemetery at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville.
